Q. What means of payment for my loved one's stay are accepted at Adkins?
A. We accept private payment, private insurance, and Medicare and Medicaid payment.

Q. I'm confused about the various options under Medicare Part A. Can your staff help?
A. Yes. Our professionally trained staff are experts in Medicare coverage. We work closely with families to explore all possible reimbursement options.

Q. My loved one is coming to Adkins Care Centers for his/her first stay. What do I need to bring?
A. We recommend bringing two changes of clothing to cover a seven-day stay. In addition to other personal belongings, you may bring a television and a telephone.

Q. What are the visiting hours at Adkins Care Centers?
A. Our normal visiting hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, if a family member's schedule makes visiting during these hours difficult, we can adjust visiting hours for him or her. Special accommodations for visitation are made as a resident approaches his or her final days.

Q. May I bring a loved one's pet to visit?
A. Yes, as long as documentation is provided that the pet has received all required shots.

Q. May I bring food to my loved one?
A. Yes. Please bring perishable foods in sealed, marked containers. Non-perishable items may be stored in residents' rooms.

Q. I'd like to bring family members to share a meal with my loved one. Can this be arranged?
A. Yes. Please let us know in advance and we'll prepare a family dinner for all of you.

Q. May I take my loved one from Adkins for an outside visit?
A. Yes. However, be aware that an absence of more than eight hours may affect Medicare payments. Check with one of our staff members for more information.
