You have many choices available to you when it comes to caring for
your loved ones. Why should you choose Adkins Care Centers?
We can answer that question in two ways. From a strictly practical standpoint, our
ratio of Nurse's Aides to patients is 1 to 10; the state requires only a 1 to 15 ratio.
Similarly, our ratio of nurses to patients is 1 to 14, while the state requires 1 to 20.
We have made a conscious decision to ensure that our nursing staff is empowered to
give our residents not just adequate care, but extraordinary care and
individualized attention.
But numbers don't begin to tell the whole story. There is a "feel" to Adkins
Care Centers that goes beyond anything numbers can quantify. Visitors to our facility
comment that it feels like walking into a home. Adkins is a much more intimate and
less institutionalized environment, and it shows in all the "little things"
we do to create an atmosphere of caring and comfort.
Most important to fostering this caring atmosphere is the people we choose to
make a part of our staff at Adkins Care Centers. We take this process very seriously,
and the qualifications we look for when we hire staff go well beyond degrees and
experience. We look for those human qualities that make all the difference when it
comes to providing compassionate and loving care. We have members of our staff who
have been with us for many years, because they know this caring philosophy won't be
found elsewhere.
